The Bench-top Vial Crusher

For small generators of glass vials, the bench-top Mini Vial Crusher will quickly destroy a variety of waste materials like liquid scintillation vials, gas chromatography vials, environmental samples or off-spec product deemed for destruction.

Compact and mobile, the Bench-top Mini-Vial Crusher is small enough for use on a lab bench or inside a fume hood.   The electric Model 7595 is plugged into a standard 115-volt wall socket while the manual Model 7568 uses a unique hand crank design to make short work of vials without needing an external power source.

Versatile and quick, the Mini-Vial Crusher can destroy vials from ampoule size up to 8-ounce bottles.   The adjustable crushing mechanism allows the operator to decide how large or small the glass shards will be.

Easy to use, the operator loads a batch from the top of the machine and merely closes the lid to begin the crushing cycle.   The crushed glass and liquid are collected in a two-part perforated basket.

Safety designs include an interlocked door to permit operation only when the unit is closed. All the crushing takes place inside the machine with no flying glass shards to endanger workers.

Separation is automatic with the Mini Vial Crusher. After shattering the containers, the material drops into a stainless steel basket that is perforated to permit the fluid to drain into the bottom half of the basket. This basket can collect the fluid or through a drain hose, can divert the liquid into a separate container. A single sheet of disposable filter paper keeps fine glass shards from mixing with the waste cocktail.

Tough construction features include a solid stainless steel single roller mill design and stainless steel contact surfaces for chemical resistance and easy cleaning.
